2012: new year, new life and new site

Este ano trouxe muita coisa nova para nós: nova vida e nova filosofia. Em casa cortámos com tudo o que é distracção e agora temos imenso tempo para ler e dedicar-nos às outras coisas que gostamos. A Marina tem passado muito mais tempo a cozinhar imensas coisas boas e eu estou com vontade de recomeçar a correr e a andar de bicicleta.
Para celebrar esta mudança, passamos as últimas semanas a trabalhar num novo site e temos o prazer de anunciar: www.fotografamos.com está pronto!
Agora podem encontrar toda a informação no mesmo sítio, incluindo seguir-nos no blog novo, em www.fotografamos.com/blog.

Este endereço continuará activo e poderão sempre visitá-lo para ler os posts mais antigos, mas a partir de hoje actualizem os Favoritos para o novo endereço.

This year brought us a bunch of new things: new life and a new philosophy. At home we got rid of every distraction and now we have a lot of time to read and do everything else we love. Marina has spent more time cooking delicious food and I’m getting the urge to get back to running and riding my bycicle again.
To celebrate this change, we’ve spent the last few weeks working on a new site and now we are proud to announce: www.fotografamos.com is ready!
Now you can find all information on the same place, including following us on the new blog, em www.fotografamos.com/blog.

This blog will still be active and you’ll always be able to come back and read the older post, but from now on you can update your bookmarks to our new address.

Em remodelação

Quem nos segue diariamente já deve ter percebido que temos estado bastante afastados do blog. No entanto, esse afastamento tem um bom motivo: estamos a preparar uma entrada em 2012 com muitas novidades. Podemos desde já adiantar que teremos um site novo, com uma imagem fresca e diferente (daí o nosso site estar em construção).
Iremos entretanto revelar mais algumas novidades, mas até lá, vamos continuar a trabalhar para surpreender os nossos clientes e continuar a evoluir.

Our daily followers have probably noticed that we have been a bit distant from our blog. However this is for a good reason: we are preparing 2012 to be filled with news. For now we can say that we will have a new website with a fresh and different look (hence the “under construction” sign on our page).
We will reveal more details in the next couple of weeks but in the meantime we will continue working to surprise our clients and to keep evolving. Stay tuned!

Nina

A Nina estava em casa dos meus pais há mais tempo do que eu me consigo lembrar. Foi para casa nem sei bem como, mas fazia-me companhia durante as horas de estudo no secundário e na universidade. E lembro-me de chegar a casa e ver o meu pai a ler o jornal no sofá da marquise, com a Nina enroscada nas suas pernas, ao quentinho.
Agora foi.

Nina was with my parents for longer than I can remember. I don’t know how she got there, but she kept me company through high-school and college. I remember getting home and seeing my father reading the newspaper in the porch couch with Nina on his lap, by the heater.
Now she’s gone.

Retratos de basketball :: basketball portraits

Tivemos o prazer de fotografar o João e o Luís para uma revista Angolana. O João só precisava de 2 ou 3 retratos para a entrevista, mas acabámos por passar 2 belíssimas horas no estúdio com eles.

We had the pleasure of shooting João and Luís for an Angolan magazine. João only needed a couple of portraits for the interview, but we ended up having a great time in the studio and spent 2 hours shooting them.

Judo @ the Stadium and @ the studio

No âmbito da angariação de um cliente muito particular, no início do mês passado fizemos um trabalho com alguns judocas nacionais no Estádio Municipal de Aveiro e no estúdio.
A manhã foi passada no Estádio, onde trabalhamos no exterior e a tarde foi passada no estúdio, em ambiente mais controlado. No final do dia estávamos exaustos, mas orgulhosos. Foi um dia em cheio com o Alexandre, o Tony, o Carlos e o João. Obrigado a todos!

In order to work on a project for a very specific client, we did a shoot with 4 national Judo athletes in the Aveiro Municipal Stadium and also in our studio.
The morning was spent in the Stadium, where we worked with them outside whereas in the afternoon, we came to the studio, where we could have a bit more control. At the end of the day we were exhausted, but proud. It was one heck of a day with Alexandre, Tony, Carlos and João. Thank you all!
